The Michigan Propane Gas Association (MPGA) is pleased to announce the continued Propane Emergency training opportunity for Fire Departments in the State of Michigan. Over the last decade, the MPGA Propane Emergency Training Team have visited nearly every county to offer this state certified training. The training is available at no cost as the MPGA continues to fully fund this program for you and your personnel. The MPGA is committed to safety and is offering this “hands-on” training opportunity to any fire department that wants to participate.

These trainings are intended to be regional trainings, and we encourage you to invite all surrounding departments in your area so that the MPGA can train as many personnel in the region as possible. The Office of Fire Fighters Training (OFFT), our certifying body, will also post the trainings in its SMOKE system.

In 2024, training courses will be held on Saturdays starting in early June and running through September. The MPGA will only select 8 regions for training. The training courses include both indoor and outdoor components, both are required for the state certificate. The outdoor component is live fire training. Full turn out gear and SCBA are required for certification. Click here to download the 2024 application.
