Propane Emergency Training
Applications Due April 1, 2022
The Propane Emergency Response Training (PERT) class is a state-certificated training program that includes classroom teaching and dramatic live-burn scenarios. The state-of-the-art training is divided into classroom sessions and outdoor, live fire training sessions. Through an industry grant, the MPGA is proud to bring this training to your area free of charge to your department and personnel.
The classroom session covers properties and principles of propane. These courses are located throughout Michigan. The outside hands-on session, consisting of interactive live-burn scenarios designed to simulate various types of propane fires will be held in several regional locations in 2022. The indoor training course is a prerequisite to complete state certification. Only personnel who attend both an indoor classroom training session AND an outdoor training session will receive certification. All trainings are open to all first responders from any part of the state. All first responders are welcome and encouraged to attend any location of his/her choice.
