What Is The Michigan Propane Gas Association PAC (MPGA)?
The Michigan Propane Gas Association PAC (MPGA PAC) is a non-partisan political action tool of the Michigan Propane Gas Association (MPGA) whose purpose is to provide financial support to legislators who support the propane industry. The MPGA PAC, in conjunction with MPGA, promotes candidates and issues that will positively impact the propane industry.
How the MPGA PAC Works For You!
Every day, lawmakers make decisions to raise or lower your taxes, enact or repeal unreasonable regulations, and influence your business costs. The MPGA PAC is committed to electing lawmakers who best represent the interests of the propane industry. By electing lawmakers who are supportive of your industry, we can be assured that MPGA will have maximum influence in shaping policy issues in our state. Or put another way, MPGA PAC is simply the best way you can protect your business. MPGA PAC is the best grassroots and issues mobilizing force that exists to protect and promote the propane industry.
Who Can Contribute To The MPGA PAC?
The MPGA PAC can accept voluntary contributions from members and staff of the MPGA – including family members, and members and staff of affiliated organizations. The MPGA PAC can accept personal checks, or contributions from businesses organized as sole-proprietorships, partnerships, or LLCs (Limited Liability Companies). Contributions can be made in the form of check or credit card. The MPGA PAC is prohibited by state and federal law from accepting corporate contributions.
Can I Write A Corporate Check?
Yes! The MPGA is proud to announce the new “MPGA Advocacy Fund.” Because this fund can accept corporate checks it is limited in its uses; however, it too will be used to help promote the industry through political education. Please send check to Michigan Propane Gas Association and write “Advocacy Fund” in the memo portion of the check.
How Much Should I Contribute?
The amount of any contribution to the MPGA PAC or the Advocacy Fund is your choice. Both tools are funded completely from voluntary contributions. No one is required to participate and there is no minimum contribution – unless part of a fundraising event. However, just imagine how influential the propane industry could be if the MPGA PAC and/or MPGA Advocacy Fund had $500 from every propane plant or $100 from every propane employee in the state each year.
Please feel free to contact the MPGA with any questions. Thank you for your support of the industry.
